As you know in the starting of 2023, a big issue was created in Rajya Sabha regarding vacant vacancies in railway, after that railway became more active and they released new vacancies. At that time Ministry of Railway was reply that issues and said that almost 312895 vacancies are still in vacant as on 01/02/2023.

After that railway was released one more notice on 04/08/2023, in which he said that after filling the vacancy on post Group D and NTPC in 2019, almost 248895 vacancies are still in vacant.

In the starting of 2024, while replying to RTI, he said that the total 236902 vacancies are still in
vacant of combining Railway’s Group C and Level 1 posts till 1 march 2024.
Railway New Vacancy 2024 Notification
So friend, all these notices that I have mention are little bit older, let’s take a look on some new notices. According to 31 August 2024 notice, in Northern Railway almost 17975 vacancies are vacant on the post of Group C and almost 11990 vacancies are still vacant on the post of Group D.
When we take a look on Western Railway then we find that 12547 vacancies are vacant on the post Group C and 9574 vacancies are on Group D posts as on 30 September 2024.
When we are going to compare the vacancies of Group D between 2019 and upcoming 2024 then we find that there was almost 13153 vacancies in Northern Railway and around 10734 vacancies in Western Railway in 2019.
When we combine the Group D vacancies of two zones (Northern Railway + Western Railway) then we find that it is around 21,564, if we add more 14 zones in it then we can easily assume that how many vacancies are still in vacant. Railway has already released the exam calendar for 2025 for different type of posts.
Now I’m going to clear your doubt that how many vacancies are suppose to come on Group D post, some sources says that around 1 lakh vacancies are going to come on Group D post but also some sources are saying that total 1 lakh vacancies will come in 2024 in railway department, also some resources says that around 40,000 to 50,000 vacancies are suppose to come on the Group D posts except those posts who are already released.
